6.5 Months

Jordyn has been changing tremendously the past week or two and we just couldn't wait until the next month update to tell you all about it. The doctor told me at Jordyn's 6 month check-up that the next few months should be calm. Since she was already sitting and rolling over he said not much new should happen and by the time we come back for our 9 mos appointment she should just be starting to crawl. If only I knew how wrong he would be! These past two weeks have been a whirlwind for Jordyn, Wayne and I! She has really been developing her rolling skills and will roll 3 or 4 times in a row, making it across the entire living room floor in a minute or so. She sits amazingly well and can get from sitting to her belly quite gracefully. Well, not really gracefully but she can do it without toppling over. She loves to get up on her knees and rock back and forth. It's very fun to watch.

Playing on her knees has helped her develop her new trick which is crawling! I can't believe my little girl s crawling but it's definitely happening. She was just rolling and spinning around in circles to get what she wanted but it's a whole new story now. She's just been crawling since Sunday but she gets better and better every hour. Of course, she won't do it when I pull out the camera but I'm working on catching her in the act. She is finding everything we don't want her to have. She dumped the living room garbage 3 times today and no matter how many times I put her in the middle of the floor she was back at that garbage as fast as she could get there. She also got stuck under the piano and her excersaucer. She knows where she wants to go but once she's there she doesn't know how to get out!

Finally, when you think she couldn't make life any more wild...she did. There are many mornings that she's awake before I'm done getting showered and dressed for the day so she plays in her crib. Yesterday Wayne went in her room and sat her up so she could play easier. Next thing I know he's calling to me to hurry up and come in the room. I ran in and there she was, holding on to the rail of her crib and standing up. There was panic and excitement because she was standing but she could've toppled over the edge. Needless to say, we lowered the mattress in her crib so she can't reach up and stand anymore, but not before we took a cute video! And even though she can't pull up on her crib anymore she is now trying to pull up on the ottoman and couch, and anything else she can get her hands on! Enjoy the video!
