Just A Cute Video

There are times when Jordyn starts to fuss in bed because she wants to get up but her Mommy tells her it's not time and she needs to wait. Many times when that happens she just covers her face with her blanket and patiently waits. It's just too cute and so I caught it on video to show you all!

Heartache

As most of you already know and some of you don't, about a week ago I told Wayne I was pregnant. I had already known a few days but was waiting for confirmation and the perfect time to tell him which ended up being the night we celebrated his birthday. Of course excitement ensued. We had already been trying for baby number two and were just waiting for the positive result. We told family and friends right away because we were too excited to hold it in and then, a week later I began to have complications. Below is my journal entry for 1/25 and I just felt like it needed to be shared.

1/25/08

"I lost the baby. I was pretty sure I had and the blood test yesterday confirmed it. Who would believe that after knowing I was pregnant for only two weeks that it would hurt this much. I've cried but not as much as I thought I would. Despite the pain, oddly enough I feel at peace about it. God knows what He's doing. I wish with all my heart He could tell me what He's doing so the pain wouldn't be so bad but I'm trying to trust. To me that baby fit right into my schedule, a perfect time to get pregnant. But Wayne said God has a way better plan and schedule than I could imagine and maybe that's what He's trying to show me. With this loss I've definitely fallen in love with Jordyn even more and am just appreciating every little thing about her. I am so thankful God gave her to us and it has made the loss less painful because of our beautiful baby girl. This is the hardest thing I've had to go through and yet, it seems a lot easier than so many other things. I don't know what God's doing or why He chose to teach us by taking away our baby but I am hoping someday I will learn why and be grateful. I have already learned though that life is so precious and not promised so push away the worry and enjoy the day."

Christmas in January

As you know from reading a former blog we have already had 4 Christmases and yet, we had one more this past weekend! We traveled up to visit Waynes mom this past weekend not just to celebrate Christmas but his birthday too. We haven't seen Phyllis since Jordyn was two months old so it was great to get to see her and Kirk, Jen, Kenzie & Riley.

It was definitely a whilrwind of activity with 3 little girls but it was so much fun. Most of you know that Riley and Jordyn are 3 days apart and couldn't be more different. They played together so nicely though: Jordyn tried to eat Rileys hand, Riley put her finger in Jordyns nose, Jordyn tried to roll on Riley and pulled her hair, lets just say that they played together but Jordyn did most of the playing, or bullying you could say. It was a great weekend and we can't wait to do it again!

5 Months

It is hard to believe that Jordyn is 5 months old. She is getting so big and changing all the time, we just can't believe it. We don't have any updates on her weight or height because she doesn't have a 5 month check-up but I can assure you, she is getting a lot heavier and growing out of many of her clothes!

Jordyn is still eating food and has added carrots and peas to her repertoire. It's pretty exciting to see how well she eats and how she enjoys anything we feed her. As much as she loves to eat I don't think we'll have trouble convincing her to eat anything!

This past month has been pretty crazy weather-wise. As you could see in a different post, for a few days it was 70 degrees and yet today, Liberty U was closed due to snow and freezing rain. I have to check the weather every morning to see what it's going to be like. Wayne and I have started school and it's definitely going to be an interesting semester. With me having to study and Wayne having reading every night it will be a struggle to get everything done but we are excited to start this new year.

On other news about Jordyn there isn't much to tell. She is getting better at sitting without tipping over but can't sit completely on her own yet. She's still rolling over all the time but hasn't figured how to roll from her belly to her back. She does like to spin in circles on the floor if you put her on her belly though, it's cute to watch. One thing that is new is that she has decided she loves sleeping with the blankets over her face. As soon as she gets in bed she covers her face and I have to uncover her face after she falls asleep. Well, we hope this next month is good for everyone and we'd love to hear from you all.

Summer Weather!

I had some cute pictures that I thought you all would enjoy but with them comes an explanation. The past few days it has been wonderful weather and record breaking in some parts of VA. The past three days have been in the 70's and it has been so great! Of course, today it is back to the high 40's but I'm not complaining.

During those few beautiful days we were able to wear shorts, flip flops, and Jordyn was able to wear a really cute tanktop outfit (shown below). The exciting thing for her was that it was so warm outside I eventually took her socks off which is her absolute most favorite thing. It was great to have the windows wide open for a few days and spend time outside. We both really enjoyed it.

Love Is In The Air

While we were on vacation in New York we were able to go to Christines wedding. It was a lot of fun and even though I didn't get to really talk to her much it was still great to see her. We were late to the wedding and I had to stay in the back with Jordyn so I didn't see much of the ceremony but the reception was very enjoyable and Jordyn was great. I was the first one to dance with Christine during the dollar dance which is cool I can say that! I am very excited for Christine and Shaun and wish them many years of happiness. I love you both!

Also, Wayne and I celebrated our 2nd year anniversary about two weeks ago. It didn't go as planned and we didn't do anything as special as our 1st but it was still a great day. We went to a Liberty basketball game, shopping and Olive Garden for dinner. Then we celebrated our Christmas that night. This past year has definitely been a year filled with changes and struggles and I am so glad to be married to the most wonderful man ever. I'm very excited about this next year to come!

Presents, Presents and More Presents!

Vacation is over and it's been a whirl-wind of activity! We spent over $300 in gas and traveled to see family in 3 different states! There was definitely a lot of driving involved and Jordyn was such a good girl. She rarely fussed while in the car which was wonderful. She did have a hard time the night after a big trip though because she had spent her whole day sleeping and so didn't want to sleep again at night. There were also days when she didn't want anyone to touch her or look at her because she was just so overwhelmed by all the new voices and faces but all in all we had a great trip.

PENNSYLVANIA: 12/21-12/24
The first stop was in PA to visit my grandparents, aunts & uncles, and cousins. It was a lot of fun. We had two big dinners togethers, opened presents, played games and ate tons of christmas cookies and candy.

New York: 12/24-12/26
We stopped in NY next so that we wouldn't have to travel 10 hours to Maine. We celebrated Christmas with my parents & siblings on the 24th and went to visit my other set of grandparents on Christmas day. Jordyn wasn't all that great and spent a lot of time in her room sleeping and crying but she did have some fun time. Her favorite present is her glowworm (shown above) that she got from Uncle Aaron and Uncle Garrett.

MAINE: 12/26-12/31
Next we were off to Maine for a very relaxing 5 days. We opened even more presents! Wayne and I were able to go to a movie by ourselves which was wonderful. We also visited friends of Waynes from college and got to meet their new daughter.

New York again: 12/31-1/5
We stopped back in NY before traveling home. It was a great time to visit friends that we hadn't seen in a long time. Wayne was able to visit TCA and see his old co-workers and we were both able to catch up with friends at our New Years Eve party. It was a fun time filled with lots of puzzles but we were definitely ready to go home.
