Teeth!

Jordyn has four bottom teeth that we have been able to see for quite a long time and yet they weren't breaking through, making life miserable for her, which made it miserable for us! But finally yesterday I put my finger in her mouth and felt something sharp. Further inspection revealed a tiny spot of a tooth poking through and today another tooth has cut through the sturface. She isn't very cooperative with letting me look but I was able to get some pictures. If you can't see the teeth in them, don't worry about it because you're not the only one that couldn't!

Fun

Just thought I would post a cute collage I put together. I took these pictures one day while Jordyn was climbing all over my legs.

7 Month Update...a little late.

It's taken me a little while to get time to write this 7 month update because we have been very busy with our visit to NY and our wild girl who gives us no breaks! Jordyn is growing and changing more and more every day and it's unbelieveable. God is so full of miracles. To think that this beautiful baby was inside of me just 8 months ago and now she's so full of personality and so busy it's hard to fathom that she was ever just a tiny newborn.

She still has no teeth which is sad. While I think Jordyn is beautiful with just a gummy smile she is also still miserable quite often. We've been able to see these teeth for over a month and yet they refuse to pop through the surface. The other day we thought one had but we were wrong, so Jordyn presses on as the toothless one, hoping for teeth soon. Despite the fact that she has no teeth she is starting a lot of real food such as bread, toast, mac & cheese, fruit puffs (much like cheerios). She is still learning how to pick small pieces of food up and how to get that last little piece of toast out of the palm of her hand into her mouth but she's enjoying it all.

Lastly, Jordyn has become a completely wild, can't be still, girl. She is crawling like crazy now and she no longer just crawls with her arms, dragging her feet behind her. She now crawls on her hands and knees and can get pretty much anywhere. She is also pulling up on everything, not just the railing in her crib anymore although she still does that! I have pictures and a small video to demonstrate just how mobile she is. I bet she'll be walking soon!

Spring Break

Jordyn and I were able to visit NY last week for 8 days! It was a lot of fun and we did a lot of visiting. We spent everyday with our close friends the Royces and the Lyons and since I had free babysitting I was able to go out with my friends quite a few nights. We played tons of games, ate lots of food and went bowling twice which I haven't done in a while. We also have a very close friend who is sick with cancer and we were able to visit her every day in the hospital which I am very thankful for. Jordyn had a hard time adjusting after the long trip and it took her a few days to begin to be happy and good but when she did she was quite enjoyable. She got her first easter basket ever from Grandma Beer and a few new toys to play with just at Grandma and Grandpas which she thought was very fun. Everyone was shocked at how big Jordyn has become and loved holding and playing with her. We were sad to leave but excited to get back home to Daddy!

6.5 Months

Jordyn has been changing tremendously the past week or two and we just couldn't wait until the next month update to tell you all about it. The doctor told me at Jordyn's 6 month check-up that the next few months should be calm. Since she was already sitting and rolling over he said not much new should happen and by the time we come back for our 9 mos appointment she should just be starting to crawl. If only I knew how wrong he would be! These past two weeks have been a whirlwind for Jordyn, Wayne and I! She has really been developing her rolling skills and will roll 3 or 4 times in a row, making it across the entire living room floor in a minute or so. She sits amazingly well and can get from sitting to her belly quite gracefully. Well, not really gracefully but she can do it without toppling over. She loves to get up on her knees and rock back and forth. It's very fun to watch.

Playing on her knees has helped her develop her new trick which is crawling! I can't believe my little girl s crawling but it's definitely happening. She was just rolling and spinning around in circles to get what she wanted but it's a whole new story now. She's just been crawling since Sunday but she gets better and better every hour. Of course, she won't do it when I pull out the camera but I'm working on catching her in the act. She is finding everything we don't want her to have. She dumped the living room garbage 3 times today and no matter how many times I put her in the middle of the floor she was back at that garbage as fast as she could get there. She also got stuck under the piano and her excersaucer. She knows where she wants to go but once she's there she doesn't know how to get out!

Finally, when you think she couldn't make life any more wild...she did. There are many mornings that she's awake before I'm done getting showered and dressed for the day so she plays in her crib. Yesterday Wayne went in her room and sat her up so she could play easier. Next thing I know he's calling to me to hurry up and come in the room. I ran in and there she was, holding on to the rail of her crib and standing up. There was panic and excitement because she was standing but she could've toppled over the edge. Needless to say, we lowered the mattress in her crib so she can't reach up and stand anymore, but not before we took a cute video! And even though she can't pull up on her crib anymore she is now trying to pull up on the ottoman and couch, and anything else she can get her hands on! Enjoy the video!
