8 Months

Jordyn is 8 months old and we can't believe it. To many of you that probably sounds so young but to us she is just getting SO OLD! She is still changing daily and I love looking back at her earlier pictures to see how far she's come in such a short time. Despite what some of you may think when you see her pictures she is actually getting thinner. She is still on the chubby side and has her fair share of rolls but looking back on her pictures from last month she is not only thinner but a lot taller. This picture below proves it because you can actually see her neck! Her two bottom teeth are completely in now and she is biting everything, including her parents! I believe she has more coming in because she's been extremely fussy and biting everything in sight although I can't seem to see where they're coming from. I loved her gummy smile but I must admit that she has a beautiful smile with two little teeth!Because of her teeth we have been encouraging her to eat a lot of finger foods which she loves but is always upset when it's time to be wiped down! Of course, it's impossible to not wipe her before letting her out of her seat. She is also become very agile. In the past few weeks she has learned how to walk across the furniture and even stands up on her own for seconds at a time. She loves to play the game where we stand her up and let go. She stands for a few seconds on her own and then tips to the side. She loves being tipped and being caught and she giggles every time! She no longer needs a handle to pull herself up either and so everything is covered in finger prints. She loves to see herself in the dishwasher and has recently discovered she can pull the papers and magnets off the fridge. I thought I had put them up high enough but she stretches on her tiptoes and gets whatever she can!
Lastly, her favorite thing recently has been reading. She has one favorite book that she will sit and read for 10-15 minutes at a time. Sometimes she reads it upside down and somtimes she only reads two pages that she flips back and forth but for some reason that is the only book she wants to play with and when she's grumpy it's the only thing that will make her happy.
Well, school is almost over and summer is here so hopefully we will be seeing a lot of you in the next coming months. Enjoy the nice weather before it gets too hot!

Senior Recital

This Tuesday I had my senior recital and my parents came down to be there for it. All my schooling has come up to this, the big senior recital. I've had voice lessons for four years and chose my favorite pieces to perform at this recital. Usually once this is done you can graduate which isn't the case for me. I still have three classes left but I don't even care because this big huge recital that has been looming over my head since I started in '04 is over with and I can sail on to the finish line. I think the recital went really well even though there were things that could've been better. Overall I enjoyed it though and was glad to have my parents visit to join in the special occasion.
